About the eHealth Award
eHealth Award was launched for the first time in 2017 as a cooperation between Vitalis, Sahlgrenska Science Park, HealthTech Nordic and Cerner. The registration period is January 24 -April 11 2019. The award is open to Swedish start-up’s and small businesses. The winner will be presented at Vitalis.

The award is a response to the Government and the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions’ (SALAR) “Vision for eHealth 2025”, which states:
 “In 2025, Sweden will be best in the world at using the opportunities offered by digitisation and eHealth to make it easier for people to achieve good and equal health and welfare, and to develop and strengthen their own resources for increased independence and participation in the life of society.”

The winner of eHealth Award will be provided with the prize of SEK 50 000 and IP consultation services worth SEK 40 000 by a sponsor Synergon AB. The prizes are non-transferable. The winner shall be responsible for payment of any taxes due on the prizes.

Who can participate?
The award is open for small businesses that have an innovative eHealth solution or product that has shown benefits for the patient, citizen, health care professional and/or health care organisation.

The jury consists of representatives from political, organisational and commercial players in the Swedish health care and welfare sector.

Criteria for participation 
a.    The product or solution has been piloted and tested and has shown beneficial
results for patient, citizen, clinician, and/or health care organization

b.   The product or solution must have the potential for scalability on a national and
international level

c.    To an extent or fully have involved the end user group as part of the development
of the product/solution

d.    The product/solution must to a degree improve or affect one or more of the
following:

  1.   Enhance citizen and/or patient engagement
    ii.   Enhance work processes for health care and welfare professionals
    iii.  Organizational development
    iv.  Care outcomes
    v.   Improved quality of life
