We live in a globalized society where national borders are blurred. E-health is global and much of what happens internationally has an impact on Sweden’s e-health development. We can learn from other countries’ work with national digital infrastructure. Several of our neighbouring countries and countries within the EU have developed digitization strategies and a digital infrastructure, and here we can learn from their experiences.

Many countries around the world face similar challenges in the digitization of healthcare, but the conditions for solving them look different. In Sweden’s work to develop a roadmap for a national digital infrastructure, it is valuable to be inspired and learn from other countries that have also worked with strategies and plans for their own national digital infrastructure.
