Video Excerpts Guide for Vitalis
We encourage attendees, speakers, and media to share insights, spark discussion, and amplify the valuable content presented at Vitalis. To ensure responsible use of intellectual property and to protect the value of the full sessions, this policy sets out the rules for sharing short video excerpts from official conference recordings.
This policy applies only to excerpts taken from the official Vitalis recordings of speaker sessions. Private recording of sessions by attendees is not permitted unless explicitly approved by Vitalis.
1. Ownership of Rights and Scope of Permission
Copyright
All copyright to session recordings belongs either to Vitalis or to the speaker, depending on the applicable speaker agreement. Vitalis grants attendees a limited license to share short excerpts only in accordance with this policy. No rights beyond those explicitly stated are transferred.
Scope of the License
The license applies exclusively to excerpts from official Vitalis session recordings produced and distributed by Vitalis.
The license does not permit attendees to record sessions themselves or to distribute privately captured footage.
2. Permitted Uses (The Citation Clause)
Attendees and speakers may share excerpts under the following conditions:
Purpose
Sharing must be for non commercial purposes such as commentary, citation, analysis, or review, and must form part of the attendee’s own original post.
Platforms
Sharing is permitted on major social media platforms including LinkedIn, X Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
Length Limit
Each excerpt may be no longer than sixty seconds.
Numeric and Temporal Limits
Users may share one excerpt per session per calendar day and no more than three excerpts from the same session within a fourteen day period.
Excerpts must be distinct and may not be edited together to recreate substantial portions of a session.
Non Commercial Use
Non commercial use means sharing content without receiving payment, sponsorship, advertising revenue, commercial visibility benefits, or other financial gain.
Posts made from corporate or branded accounts are considered commercial unless Vitalis has approved the use in writing.
Context Integrity
Excerpts must not misrepresent the speaker’s meaning or the overall message of the session.
3. Prohibited Uses
The following uses are not permitted:
• Selling, licensing, or otherwise monetizing excerpts
• Posting full sessions or reconstructing sessions through multiple excerpts
• Removing logos, speaker names, or event branding
• Sharing content in a way that undermines the value of the full session or paid access to recordings
• Using excerpts in marketing, sales, training, or other commercial communications without written approval from Vitalis
4. Mandatory Requirements and Best Practices
All posts containing excerpts must follow these requirements:
Attribution
Clearly credit the speaker and Vitalis in the accompanying text.
Tagging
Tag the speaker’s professional profile and the official Vitalis account or hashtag.
Original Commentary
Posts must include original commentary, analysis, or reflection.
Posting a clip without context is not allowed.
Link to Source
Include a link to the Vitalis website or the page where conference information and full session access is available.
5. GDPR and Speaker Consent
Speakers have provided consent for Vitalis to record and publish their presentations.
Attendees do not appear in published recordings, and no attendee personal data is processed in connection with excerpt sharing under this policy.
6. Enforcement and Compliance
Vitalis may request the removal of any excerpt that violates this policy or conflicts with intellectual property protection.
Attendees are expected to comply with such requests within a reasonable timeframe.
Vitalis may also submit takedown requests directly to social media platforms when necessary.
7. Governing Law and Language
This policy is governed by Swedish law.
If the policy is provided in more than one language, the Swedish version shall prevail in case of conflict.
